De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) utilizes APSA’s Online Standards- Based Assessment
True to its commitment in pursuing Lasallian excellence through of a world-class learner-centered environment that promotes relevant and progressive learning, De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) takes a big step in assessing student performance through the utilization of APSA’s Standards- Based Assessment (SBA).
The SBA is the latest assessment technology that addresses the needs of schools for quality assessment that will identify what students should know or what students should be able to do at a certain grade level in various subject areas. The SBA pinpoints competencies of students and learning gaps which serve as bases for learning reinforcement or remediation. Results of the assessment can also aid teachers and the school to identify the areas of strengths and developmental areas which consequently can provide information for improvement of the institution’s curriculum.
In collaboration with DLSZ’s Instructional and Performance Assessment Office, APSA successfully administered the online SBA in Math from Grade 7-9 students last August. Grade 10 students on the other hand, took the Assessment for Senior High School Potential (ASHSP) last November 4. The ASHSP determines the strands most likely suited for the students vis- a vis his or her desired field. It also provides the best perspective and suggestions to prepare the students for the academic demands of the senior high school program.
The pioneer and the leader in Standards- Based Assessment, APSA has conducted over a thousand of online tests across the country and abroad since May 2020. To find out how your school can benefit from using APSA’s SBA, visit APSA’s fb page:@apsaphilippines
