Lyceum of the Philippines- Laguna Implements Standards- Based Assessment (SBA)
As one of the most reputable schools in the country, Lyceum of the Philippines – Laguna (LP-L) upholds its commitment to provide high quality education thru industry-driven environment dedicated to developing globally competitive individuals, leaders, and life-long learners thru the implementation of Standards- Based program in assessing student performance.
For many years, LP-L has partnered with the Asian Psychological Services and Assessment (APSA) in assessing student achievement thru APSA’s Standards- Based Assessment (SBA). The SBA is the latest assessment technology that measures students’ proficiency level against national and global standards. Through APSA’s SBA, areas of strengths and areas for improvements are identified which become bases for learning reinforcement or remediation. Results of the SBA not only provides objective feedback to the students but also provides relevant information to the to teachers, subject area heads, principals, parents and other stakeholders for decision-making in terms of curriculum, instruction, competency development programs, and capacity building.
Last October 2, the online SBA was successfully conducted to Grade 7-11 students in collaboration with the school admin, teachers, and support of parents. Using state- of -the art platform, students were able to take their SBA in the comfort and safety of their homes.
